You start at the port of Bregenz, from where the ship of the Vorarlberg Lines departs in the direction of the Rhine! During the ship-tour you will hear information about the Bregenz shoreline. By ship you pass by the Bregenz Festival, the  nature reserve Mehrerau, the village Hard to the Rhine-damm.  At the pier on the Rhine-damm, near the Rhine estuary, you will disembark and switch to the historic service railway, which runs along the Alpine Rhine to the museum "Rhein-Schauen". Depending on the date of the journey, the historic electric locomotive from the 1940s or the steam locomotive from 1910 and 1920, respectively, will be used. For small and large guests, the trip with the historic train is special! The ride with the train to the museum disposes wonderfull views on  the nature reserve at the Rhine as well as on swimming excavators after the nature reserves .In the museum ‘Rhein-Schauen’, you can learn about the past, present and future of flood defences on the Rhine-damm. The historic train service once transported stone and building materials and many historic artifacts of this time are disposed in the museum. Children have the chance to examin the trains drivers cab and many other fun multimedial exhibition parts! After the visit in the museum the train takes the visitors back to the Rheindamm where again the boat brings the guests back to Bregenz!
